A child under 16 may be employed in the entertainment industry provided:
The role or environment is not hazardous or detrimental to the health, morals, education or welfare of the child.
Child is not required to use a dressing room simultaneously occupied by an adult or other child of the opposite sex.
Entertainment Work Permit has been obtained.
Child is provided with a suitable place to rest or play.
Parent or Guardian is not prevented from being present at all times while the child is working.
A written statement from the child’s principal as to academic standing of the child is also required.

An Entertainment Work Permit is required for all minors under under 16 years of age.
Permits are issued per job and for no more than six months.
Requirements:
Written consent of a parent or guardian.
Proof of Age.
School age children must a submit written statement from school principal, outlining academic standing, advisability of work and arrangements for meeting attendance laws.
A written statement from the doctor of any child under age 6 authorizing them to work.

The State of Arkansas does not require the presence of a teacher on set during the employment of a minor.

No person shall engage in the business of employment agency, manager or counselor unless he/she first obtains a license (11-11-208). Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, at least 21 years of age, of good moral character and must provide the state with character references. Applications must be accompanied by a $5,000 bond.
